Ajita Swaroop Saran is Head of Marketing at Flipkart Commerce Cloud (FCC), the enterprise SaaS arm of Flipkart, a Walmart company. Launched in 2023, FCC is a roughly 200-person challenger selling an AI-native commerce platform built on systems that process 1.5B+ orders a year across 200M+ SKUs and power 35B+ in annual GMV. She leads brand, product marketing and demand generation across six regions. She brings 15 years of marketing experience across consulting, banking and e-commerce, with an MBA in Marketing from IBS Hyderabad (2011). At Brandscapes Worldwide (2011 to 2014) she consulted for global brands including Citibank, Coca-Cola, Carlsberg and Unilever across EMEA, Latin America and APAC. At Religare Securities she ran pan-India marketing across 10 business verticals and 500 cities. As Associate Vice President at HSBC (2015 to 2018) she governed the brand across 26 branches and launched HSBC India's first social media channel. She joined Flipkart in 2018, spent 3 years in seller marketing, led brand and seller marketing for Shopsy from 2021, and has headed FCC marketing since May 2024. Her operating model is deliberately lean and fully measured: a small in-house team, extended by specialist partners, runs a weekly cadence across nine disciplines, with every output scored against a monthly benchmark of ten named competitors. In two years this model produced the number 1 engagement-per-post position in FCC's category, 3 consecutive years of IDC MarketScape recognition and a Gold Stevie Award. She is also a public voice for the brand and for women in technology. A mother to a five-year-old daughter, she appeared unscripted in FCC's 3:35 film "More Than Before", one of 3 FCC leaders on camera, and authored its companion op-ed, "Why we stopped calling it a career break"; the film reached 178,000+ people and lifted job applications 60% on a USD 1,800 budget. Beyond her corporate leadership, she is a published author of the Hindi poetry collection "Mann Ki Kalam Se" (Notion Press, 2021), reflecting her creative depth and authentic voice. Her principle: say true things, prove them with numbers, and out-think rather than outspend vendors with 10x her resources.
